The patio was the main element of this backyard upgrade, so we installed it first. We built a rectangular patio that spans the length of the house, connecting it to the steps leading to the back entrance for easy access. We used larger, square paving stones with a light color and smaller, darker-colored pavers to go in between them, creating a checkerboard pattern. This eye-catching design adds visual interest to the patio while maintaining a modern, charming aesthetic.
